Fun Facts about me
🐾 My love for animals came unexpectedly.
For most of my life, I was actually afraid of animals — until my family brought home our puppy. Somehow, that little pup completely changed my heart. Through him, I discovered a love and appreciation for animals I never knew I had. Now, being around animals brings me so much joy, and my puppy holds an incredibly special place in my life.
🪨 I love collecting little pieces of the world.
I have always been drawn to unique things — interesting coin designs, beautiful stones I find on beaches, or small treasures I discover while travelling. They may not be valuable in the traditional sense, but to me, their value comes from the memory or story attached to them. I love having little reminders of the places I have been and the moments I have experienced.
🧶 I value handmade things over material things.
There is something so meaningful about receiving something that someone took the time to make. I appreciate the thought, effort, and intention behind handmade pieces far more than the price tag attached to something. The same is true for relationships — quality time with the people I love will always mean more to me than material things.
🌍 I have a bucket list that keeps getting longer.
There are so many places in the world I hope to experience. For me, travelling is about much more than seeing beautiful places. I believe immersing yourself in another culture — its food, traditions, everyday life, stories, and people — is one of the most meaningful ways to truly understand perspectives different from your own. I want to keep exploring the world with curiosity and an open mind.
🩷 I think empathy is my superpower.
I have always been someone who feels deeply and tries to understand where another person is coming from. I am naturally curious about people's stories, experiences, and the things that have shaped them. I believe there is something incredibly powerful about feeling genuinely seen and understood, and I try to bring that kind of presence into both my personal life and the work that I do.
Hi, I’m Anuradha (Anu), a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). I work with teens and adults who may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, disconnected from themselves, or unsure of how to navigate a difficult season of life. You might be dealing with stress, self-doubt, relationship concerns, grief, family or cultural expectations, or simply feeling like something needs to change but not knowing where to begin.
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative and non-judgmental. I believe therapy should feel like a space where you do not have to perform, explain yourself perfectly, or have everything figured out before you arrive. Together, we can slow things down, understand the patterns underneath what you are experiencing, and build tools that feel realistic and meaningful for your life.
I draw from approaches such as CBT, DBT, Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, expressive and experiential techniques, and trauma-informed care. Depending on what feels right for you, our sessions may involve conversation, practical strategies, exploring emotions and patterns, creative exercises, or simply taking the time to make sense of what has been difficult to put into words.
As a culturally responsive therapist, I also recognize that family, identity, culture, relationships and life experiences can shape the way we understand ourselves and the choices available to us. My goal is to meet you with curiosity and respect, while helping you move toward greater clarity, confidence and a stronger connection with yourself.
I offer therapy in English, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu, with in-person sessions in Vaughan and virtual sessions across Ontario.
